Teaching has always been a major part of my life. From my freshman year
in college I earned my living by teaching music and began college teaching
within four years after becoming a visual artist. Many artist teach art
soley as a way to earn money: for me it has always been part of my personal
expression and an aid to my own learning and thought. Aproximately 6,000
people are my former students. It is always a great pleasure to run into
them and hear their recollections. After twenty years of art teaching at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art and The New School for Social Research several opportunities, including the chance to work with the Rolling Stones, came along and I took leaves of absence and chose not to return. I a planning to teach again in some new context... an overall view of art, technology and perception is the general idea. The art included in this section was created in some teaching situation and could easily fit into other categories. The text of this section will include more about my teaching in the next update. | |||
